Deputy Guillermo Vega Guerrero, coordinator of PAN in the LXI local Legislature, expressed his full support for a bill that seeks to classify and sanction real estate corruption in the state. He highlighted the importance of working for urban development, avoiding the actions of predatory developers who do not consider the quality of life of families.
Guerrero praised the initiative presented by federal deputy from Morena, Luis Humberto Fernández, which seeks to replicate it at the local level. He criticized the lack of commitment from federal deputy Gilberto Herrera on legislative and management issues for the state. He underscored the need to guarantee basic conditions, such as schools, mobility, and essential services, before approving any urban development.
The deputy called on municipalities, especially those metropolitan, to support this initiative and showed his willingness to collaborate for its approval. He referred to specific cases in San Juan del Río, where he identified real estate developments like La Rueda and Loma Alta, which he considers should not have been authorized, highlighting serious damages currently present, such as flooding in homes near the San Juan River.
Vega Guerrero recalled the necessity of learning from past mistakes to avoid similar situations in the future. He emphasized the importance of ordered and sustainable urban growth, calling for responsible and measured actions to protect resources and the quality of life for future generations. The proposal includes sanctions of six months to five years of prison and fines from 90 to 300 days for public servants and developers involved in real estate corruption. He pointed out previous progress in the creation of development polygons and advocated for planned and responsible growth.
